The VLT Images A Cosmic SpiderThe European Southern Observatory’s VLT (Very Large Telescope) recently snapped this gorgeous image of one of the night skies most photogenic objects, the Tarantula Nebula. The Tarantula is located in the Large Megellanic Cloud, a neighboring galaxy visible from the southern hemisphere. The VLT is made up of four 8.2 meter telescopes. Yes… 8.2 meters each!
