Telescope: 17.5" f4.5 Newtonian.
Camera: Apogee AP7P
Photograph Notes: Luminance-layered image of the Sombrero Galaxy (M104), made from images taken with an Apogee AP7P camera and CMY filters on 5/1/00 by Al Kelly at TSP 2000 (the Texas Star Party) in the Davis
Mountains of West Texas with a 17.5? f4.5 Newtonian. Thirty-second subexposures were autoguided. Total stacked exposure durations were 10 minutes unfiltered and 5 minutes through each of the CMY filters.

BVRH filters (B=blue, V=green, R=red, and H=Hydrogen alpha=red). This is a luminance-layered color composite, using a processed stack of all filtered images to create the white (luminance) layer.

Photograph Notes:L/RGB color composite of dusty galaxy NGC 2903, made by Al Kelly from filtered images taken by Arne Henden of the US Naval Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ, using the 3.5-meter WIYN telescope and a 2048x2048 CCD array. Arne made four short-exposure images using BVRI filters (B/V/R/I = 6/3/3/2 minutes). All images were summed to create the luminance layer, red=R+I, green=V, and blue=B.
