My location was East side I-215 south bound at approximately 4800 South. Time of the sighting was 5:53PM approximately. Date December 18, 2008. After the flash and short flight before disappearing. I noticed a very short contrail, white in color against increasingly darkening sky. Since I was in a truck I did not hear anything. Because of the short contrail I assume the meteor entered the atmosphere at a near vertical angle.
