A beautiful image of M77 by Robert Gendler Spiral Galaxy M77, located 1° southwest of delta Ceti, is a faint object visually, but beautiful photographically.  A Seyfert type II galaxy, it is the nearest and brightest of this type.  This galaxy's core is believed to be a black hole of a 100 million solar masses.
