Utah Skies Eclipse Watching Party |
On
Monday evening, June 10th there will be an
annular eclipse. This a a type of eclipse where the disk of the moon is smaller
that that of the sun. As such, nowhere on Earth will you be able to experience
totality. As it turns out, here in the US we'll be able to see a portion of
the sun covered. In northern Utah, the event will start about 6:15pm with the maximum occurring about
7:15pm with about 5 5% of
the sun being eclipsed. Utah Skies will be hosting an eclipse watching party
out at Trailside
Park. We'll have a handful of telescopes equipped with solar filters
so that you can view the event safely. The event will run from 6:00pm
until about 8:00pm. Admission is free. Directions to Trailside Park: Take I-80 to US40. Get off at the first exit which is Silver Summit. Take this heading west right into the park. We'll be down by the lower soccer field. Need a map? Click Here. Hope to see you. P.S. If you have a telescope with a solar filter, feel free to bring it along. Additionally, if you have #12 or #14 welders glasses, bring these as well. They can be used to safely view the Sun. |

Remember. Be Safe. You may only view the sun with approved solar filters. |
