Email the Summit County Commissioners

Here is a quick and easy way to let the Summit County Commissioners know just how you feel about Light Pollution.  Fill out the form as appropriate, click "Create Email", edit the prepared message as you wish, and then send it!

Note: This is currently only working with Netscape browsers.  If you are using an IE browser, we'll have to do something a little different.

Stop Light Pollution in Summit County!!

The subject of your message -- a brief description of what the message is about.
Body: Hello,

I'd like to discuss an issue that concerns me deeply: Light Pollution.

Light Pollution is caused by the improper use of outdoor lighting.
Light Pollution is light shining where is does no good.
Light Pollution produces dangerous glare.
Light Pollution and harsh lighting create dark shadows where the unwelcome may lurk.
Light Pollution results in billions of dollars of electricity wasted annually.
Light Pollution begets other pollutions resulting from the generation of electricity.
Light Pollution robs us of views of the beautiful nighttime skies we've enjoyed throughout history.
Light Pollution is waste.
Light Pollution destroys the nighttime beauty of Summit County.

Summit County has developed very good light pollution control ordinances designed to protect and preserve the nighttime environment. The ordinances clearly spell out what is and is not acceptable. Unfortunately, the county has not been enforcing these ordinances. We expect better from Summit County. We expect the county to make every effort to preserve the beauty of the nighttime environment. We expect you as our elected official to take the lead in demanding that the county meet its obligations.

Then, click the "Get cc:" button below to get a list of local media contacts that you can copy and paste into your "Cc:" field.

Next, click the "Get Body" button below and copy and paste it into you message.

Lastly, edit your message to sign it and add any contact info you want the commissioners to have -- send it and be heard!!
