Anthony's First Theorem Of Geomagnetic Activity

Anthony's First Theorem of Geomagnetic Activity states that the intensity of geomagnetic activity is directly proportional to the amount of cloud cover over northern Utah. Hence, on clear nights there will either be no geomagnetic activity, or it will be of such insignificant intensity as to render it invisible from northern Utah. Conversely, geomagnetic storms which are intense enough to be viewed from locations as far south as Arizona or Mexico will occur on nights where the cloud cover over northern Utah renders them invisible.
